FAQs

Q: Do you need a prescription for physical therapy from a family doctor?

A: Yes and No.You do not need a prescription for physical therapy unless you are a patient with MediCare insurace. Since Dr. Cadena is an orthopaedic specialist, patients can receive 15 business days of treatment without a prescription for PT from a family doctor. After the 15th business day of treatment, patients will have to obtain a prescription from their family doctor to continue with their PT sessions.

Q: If I am paying with cash (no insurance), do I still need a prescription for physical therapy after the 15th business day?

A: Yes, it is a state law. It is not an insurance or a non-insurance policy.

What Is Functional Medicine?

PhysioSports Institute is dedicated to providing you with effective treatments that get you back to your life quickly. Our treatments include proven, hands-on techniques that are individualized in conjunction with a custom exercise program. Another key component to our care is the one-on-one time we will spend discussing your injury with Dr. Cadena, reviewing your treatment options, and ensuring that you thoroughly understand your care. Based on the data collected from both you and your doctor, we will create a treatment plan that uses a proven approach to help you achieve optimal wellness. Your treatment plan will help you regain ideal joint alignment, mobility, and motion. Most importantly, it will be engineered to eliminate the problem that is causing your pain at its source.

Feel free to drop by our office if you have any questions or if you would like more information. We are here to help you live your PhysioLife pain-free!
